How to choose a dental clinic in Turkey

Search for the "best dental clinic in Turkey" and you'll find lots of rankings. Many are written by clinics or agents who earn from them. This checklist helps you judge clinics for yourself.

Short answer

The best clinic for you is one that is licensed by the Turkish Ministry of Health, tells you who your dentist is and what qualifications they have, names the implant brand, gives you a written itemised plan and price based on your X-ray, puts its guarantee and aftercare in writing, and doesn't pressure you to decide quickly.

Why we don't rank clinics

We are a dental clinic. If we published a list of the "best clinics in Turkey", you would be right not to trust it. Instead, here are the questions independent UK organisations recommend asking, plus a few we have learned from patients. Use them on every clinic you consider, including us.

Licences and regulation

  1. Is the clinic licensed by the Turkish Ministry of Health? Ask for the licence.
  2. Is it authorised for health tourism? The UK government points to the Health Türkiye website, where the Ministry lists approved providers.
  3. Is the clinic insured? The Oral Health Foundation lists this as a question to ask.
  4. Is there a clear complaints process? Ask how you would raise a problem, and with whom.

Your dentist

  1. Who exactly will treat you? Get a name, not just "our team".
  2. What are their qualifications, and are they registered to practise?
  3. How often do they do this procedure?
  4. Will you be able to talk to them directly, in English or with a translator?

The plan and the price

  1. Is the plan based on your own X-ray or scan, not a guess?
  2. Is the price written and itemised? Our quote checker lists what it should include.
  3. Is the implant brand and system named?
  4. Have they explained the alternatives, including keeping your own teeth where possible?
  5. Did they ask about your medical history, medicines and smoking?
  6. Did they explain the risks and how long the work is expected to last?

Guarantee and aftercare

  1. Is the guarantee in writing? What does it cover, for how long, and what must you do to keep it?
  2. Who pays for travel and accommodation if something needs fixing?
  3. Who do you contact at home if you have a problem, and how quickly do they reply?
  4. Will you get an implant passport and copies of your X-rays to show a UK dentist?

Reputation and feel

  1. What do independent reviews say? Read Google and Trustpilot reviews, including the critical ones, and look at real before-and-after cases.
  2. Did you feel rushed? The NHS warns against hard selling and pressure to decide quickly. A good clinic gives you time.

Be wary of "independent" rankings. Before you trust a list of top clinics, check who publishes it and whether they earn from the clinics they recommend. UK rules require advertising to be clearly identified as advertising.

You can print this page and take it to your consultation, or go through it on a call with each clinic. If a clinic can't or won't answer these questions in writing, that tells you something.

Common questions

Which is the best dental clinic in Turkey?

There is no official ranking of dental clinics in Turkey. Lists that name a 'number one' clinic are often written by clinics or agents with a financial interest. We are a clinic too, so we won't rank anyone. Use the checklist on this page to compare clinics on facts you can check.

Can I trust online reviews?

Reviews help, especially on independent platforms such as Google and Trustpilot, which the Oral Health Foundation suggests checking. Look for detailed reviews from people with treatment like yours, read the negative ones too, and see how the clinic replies.

Should I use an agent or go direct to a clinic?

Either can work, but check who actually treats you. If you use an agent, ask which clinic and which dentist will treat you, and make sure the guarantee is from the clinic itself.

Is a bigger clinic better?

Not necessarily. What matters is who treats you, how carefully your case is planned, and what happens if you need help later.
