Dental implants in Turkey: what does it really cost?

Headline prices are easy to find. What matters is what they include. This guide shows you what decides the price, where the hidden extras are, and how to compare quotes fairly.

Short answer

The price depends mainly on how many implants you need, the implant brand, what your final teeth are made of and whether you need extra procedures such as a bone graft. Two quotes that look similar can include very different things, so always ask for a written, itemised plan based on your own X-ray before you book.

Why prices vary so much

If you search for implant prices in Turkey, you will see numbers that are far apart. Most of that difference comes from five things:

  1. How many implants you need. One missing tooth usually needs one implant. A full arch of fixed teeth is usually held by four to six implants.
  2. The implant brand. Long-established brands with decades of research usually cost more. They are also easier for a UK dentist to recognise and service later.
  3. Your final teeth. Acrylic (plastic) teeth cost less than porcelain or zirconia, but they wear faster.
  4. Extra procedures. Some people need a bone graft or sinus lift before an implant can be placed. This is usually only known after a 3D scan.
  5. What is bundled in. Hotel, airport transfers, X-rays, the 3D scan and temporary teeth may or may not be included.

What a complete quote should include

A good quote is written, itemised and based on your own X-ray. It should state each of these clearly:

ItemWhat to look for
ImplantsThe brand and system by name, the number of implants and where they go.
AbutmentsThe connector between implant and tooth. Sometimes left out of headline prices.
Temporary teethWhat you will wear between your first and second trip.
Final teethThe material (acrylic, porcelain, zirconia) and the number of teeth.
Scans and X-raysWhether the 3D scan and X-rays are included.
Bone graft or sinus liftIncluded, priced separately, or "if needed" — and the price if needed.
Hotel and transfersHow many nights, which hotel, which journeys.
GuaranteeWhat is covered, for how long, and what you must do to keep it valid.
Your dentistThe name and qualifications of the person treating you.

Our free quote checker goes through these items one by one. It works with any clinic's quote, including ours.

The hidden extras to ask about

  • "From" prices. A low starting price may assume the cheapest implant brand and acrylic teeth.
  • Bone grafts "if needed". Ask how likely it is in your case and what it would cost.
  • Extractions. Removing remaining teeth may be charged per tooth.
  • The second trip. Flights and hotel for the second visit are often not included.
  • Extra trips if something goes wrong. Ask who pays for travel if a repair is needed.

The NHS advice on saving money abroad: factor in exchange rates, the chance that you may need to stay longer, and the cost of possible return trips. You also cannot claim back the cost of dental treatment abroad from the NHS.

How Turkey compares with the UK

In the UK, the NHS says implants are usually only available privately. They are rarely offered on the NHS, for example to people who cannot wear dentures after mouth cancer or an accident.

What the NHS does provide is dentures, crowns and bridges as a Band 3 treatment. In England, Band 3 currently costs £332.10 (checked October 2026). That is why many people compare three options:

UK private implant prices vary a lot by region and clinic, so the fairest comparison is a written quote from a UK practice alongside one from Turkey, both for the same plan.

Travel costs to add

When you add up the total, include:

  • Return flights for each trip (usually two)
  • Hotel nights not included in your package
  • Travel insurance that covers you for planned treatment
  • Time off work, and a companion's travel if you want someone with you
  • Soft food and any medicines you need after surgery

How to get an honest price

Nobody can give you an accurate price without seeing your mouth. A recent panoramic X-ray (an OPG) is the most useful thing you can send. Your UK dentist can usually provide one. Clear photos of your teeth also help.

If you would like our price, send us your X-ray and we will reply with a written, itemised plan that names the implant brand. Common questions

Why are dental implants cheaper in Turkey than in the UK?

Mainly because rent, staff wages and dental laboratory fees are lower. The implants themselves are not cheaper versions: a good clinic names the same international brands that UK dentists use, so you can compare like for like.

Can I get dental implants on the NHS instead?

Usually not. The NHS says implants are usually only available privately. In rare cases they are offered to people who cannot wear dentures for reasons such as mouth cancer or an accident.

Is the price per implant or per tooth?

It depends on the clinic, which is why quotes are hard to compare. One implant can carry one crown, and four to six implants can carry a full arch of 10–14 teeth. Ask for the total price for your whole plan, not a price per item.

Do I pay everything up front?

Ask before you book. Many clinics take a deposit, then payment for each stage of treatment. Get the payment terms, and what happens to your money if treatment is cancelled, in writing.

Will my travel insurance cover dental treatment abroad?

Standard travel insurance usually does not cover planned treatment. The NHS advises you to tell your insurer about your plans before you travel. Some insurers offer specific medical travel cover.
